The Adirondack Kids® Family Book Club!

Adirondack Kids Press announces that The Adirondack Kids series of books has officially passed 100,000 copies sold
Gary, Carol & Justin VanRiper

Welcome to the Club. - When I went to school, I (Gary) used to love receiving the Weekly Readers. And pouring over the Book Club selections and picking out my books! I never dreamed one day I would be writing books with my own son (Justin) and that we would be sharing our own stories with so many children.

During the past decade we have had the privilege to meet personally with children in many schools and libraries across and around the state of New York - and still do.

But with Justin in his senior year of college and marriage for him on the horizon soon after (where has the time gone!) we are unable to book as many school and library visits as we would like to! Click here for information on school visits. And so we decided to create what we call, The Adirondack Kids® Family Book Club.

Why This Book Club?

We have established The Adirondack Kids® Family Book Club primarily for three reasons.

1 - To make our autographed books available throughout the year at the same discount prices that we do when we are able to make a school or library visit.

2 - To promote not only our books, but other solid regional (Adirondack) books, by regional authors, or by national authors that live in and write about the region, and which are often unavailable from other Book Club sources. Click here to see our very first selections, including titles by authors Anne Mazer & Ellen Potter, Sheri Amsel, Lisa Densmore, Kate Messner, Brian J. Heinz and illustrator Maggie Henry.

3 - To fulfill our mission and broaden our reach in encouraging families to read & write & draw & explore the Adirondacks together!

How the Book Club works:

We have created a simple-to-use Order Form which features our Book Selections, which always includes all of titles in The Adirondack Kids® series. Just have your school's contact person for the Club call or e-mail us and let us know how many order forms you will need and we will mail them to you. Please click here to view a PDF of the order form you will receive.

Set a date to distribute and collect the paid orders and mail us the orders with payment along with your book tally. (We will enclose a book tally sheet with your order forms.) We will then send your complete order to the designated person/location for distribution to the students, including the free books/merchandise for your library or classroom.*

That's it!

*AND

• Every school that participates in The Adirondack Kids® Family Book Club receives a complete set of The Adirondack Kids® books, The Adirondack Kids® poster and bookmarks for the school library.

• If an individual teacher & classroom participates in The Adirondack Kids® Family Book Club, the classroom receives an Adirondack Kids poster and each student receives an Adirondack Kids bookmark.

All books are offered at a discount price - with all The Adirondack Kids® books at approximately 20 percent savings and all other titles at approximately 10 percent savings - which includes tax & shipping & handling.

Also please take note that only The Adirondack Kids® books can/will be autographed.

IN CLOSING:

Our vision is that The Adirondack Kids® Family Book Club may grow and with time include an increasing variety of quality regional books at affordable prices encouraging our young people to read and to learn ever more about themselves and this great region - and learn how to articulate their own ideas through writing and the visual arts.

This is our first year and humble beginning with The Adirondack Kids® Family Book Club. It is offically launched, and what happens from here is in the hands of interested educators and parents who share our vision.

Thanks so much for your support of our work through these many years.

We welcome teacher & librarian & parent recommendations and suggestions to help us make The Adirondack Kids® Book Club even more effective!

Attention Teachers, PTO's, event organizers: For more information call Carol at 315-225-0154 or e-mail at cvanriper@mac.com!
