Our blog is short this week!
That is because we are already in Inlet, New York getting ready for the 7th Annual Adirondack Kids Day™ set for Saturday, October 6!
The autumn colors have been amazing this week and the free family-friendly events in the center of the hamlet begin at 10 a.m.
Adirondack Kids Day™ has become a signature event for main sponsor KIWANIS of the Central Adirondacks. Volunteers have already prepared Goody Bags for the first 300 children accompanied by an adult.
Among surprises in each bag is a free copy of one of the books from The Adirondack Kids® series. Check in at the KIWANIS tent to one of the bags and schedule of the events.
Among popular activities are the French Louie Fishing Derby, Adirondack Raptors with Mark Manske, Pony Rides, Hands-on Art Projects and Geocaching 101. Experts in hiking will answer questions regarding places to go and how to prepare.
There is also an Authors Fair at the Adirondack Reader with authors and illustrators of children’s books on hand to autograph copies of their books set in the Adirondacks.
Attached here also is a copy of the tentative schedule - a map showing the venues for events - and a short video with scenes from last year’s gathering!
Rain - Shine - or even Snow - we’ll be there!
We hope you can join us!
